The blessed scheme of Tehrik-e-Jadid was launched by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II in 1934 to facilitate propagation of the message of Ahmadiyyat and many Ahmadiyya muslim missions were established throughout the world due to the blessings of this scheme.

In 1934 , Majlis-e-Ahrar , a muslim sectarian movement , according to a well laid conspiracy , sent some of its volunteers to create mischief by organizing conferences in Qadian and with great uproar and drum beat announced that they would destroy Qadian itself. The atmosphere in the rest of the country was also vitiated against the jamat-e-Ahmadiyya. Government was also backing these elements. It seemed all the forces had combined against Ahmadiyyat. As the nefarious intentions of the Majlis-e-Ahrar unfolded ,  Allah through his chosen servant , Khalifatul Masih II , initiated the great universal scheme of Tehrik-e-Jadid  which brought to naught  the plans of the opponents and within a short period of time Ahrar’s influence started to decline and they lost the confidence of the mainstream muslims.

Under the 25 demands of the scheme , the Ahmadiyya community was urged to lead a simple life , to make sacrifices in the cause of Islam , and to volunteer their lives for missionary work.Through this important scheme , many Ahmadiyya Muslim missions were & being established the world over.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II himself explained its purpose nicely:

“All demands of Tehrik-e-Jadid have been introduced for the reason that you could become manifestation of Allah’s attributes “( Alfazal vol .15, No. 283).

In another instance Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II said:

“We need manpower to reach the entire world population. We need money to attain this noble goal. We need determination & steadfastness to accomplish this great task. We need desperate prayers to attain this purpose which could attract God’s special favors. A composition of all these things is known as Tehrik-e-Jadid.  (Alfazal vol.30, No. 280).

Hazrat Musleh Maoud ( may God be pleased with him ), in the beginning , demanded only 27,500 rupees from the jamat. The Jamat in only one and half month made a cash contribution of 29,712 rupees. In the first year Jamat contributed 103,000 rupees, in the second year contributed 110,000 rupees and in the third year contributed 140,000 rupees.

Initially the scheme was established only for 3 years . Later it was extended few times but in 1953 , when the 19 years term of the scheme ended Huzoor made it a permanent scheme.

Currently the suggested contribution in this blessed scheme is one fifth of one’s monthly income paid over a year. Its financial year starts each year from November 1 till October 31.

In the current world environment of Islamophobia and prevalence of disinformation campaign against Islam , importance of Tehrik-e-Jadid increases many fold that can neutralize the false propaganda against Islam by spreading its true teachings. May Allah increase our level of sacrifice in Tehrik-e-Jadid and succeed us in  achieving this goal. Inshallah.
